Acupuncture has been practiced for over 5000 years and is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine. It involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the body's natural healing processes. It aims to restore smooth, balanced flow of "qi", which is vital energy, by targeting specific acu-points on the body. Numerous studies have proved the efficacy of acupuncture in pain reduction, enhanced circulation, and stress relief. Acupuncture is particularly valuable in pre and post natal care. It can help manage common discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, morning sickness, and back pain, and also help turn a breech baby. Acupuncture is known to help with cervical ripening starting at 36 weeks to ensure a smoother childbirth. It can aid in childbirth recovery, balance hormones, and enhance milk production. It is a safe, effective, and painless approach to well-being. At most, you will feel a quick prick followed by sensation of warmth, soreness, or slight ache (if any). Many people find treatments to be relaxing and often fall asleep, which we like to call an "acu-nap". Overall, acupuncture harnesses the body's innate healing capacity to restore balance and makes it a powerful therapy for a wide range of health conditions.

I am a graduate of West Coast College of Massage Therapy and have been a practicing RMT since March of 2003. I give a firm massage incorporating fascial and myofascial techniques as well as a range of modalities using a Swedish massage framework. I have taken breast care courses with post-surgery care and have done a lot of work with scars as well as spending a year working with the Vancouver General Hospital Burn Ward treating burn survivors once a week at their in-reach clinic. I’ve done quite a bit of intra oral work for TMJ and have completed a number of visceral manipulation courses which I am incorporating into my practice. I also like doing deep work in the neck and shoulders and doing treatments for headaches. I definitely prefer longer treatment times but can do a lot in 60 minutes. I’m good with people and develop solid treatment plans for the patients with appropriate home care. Whether you want a therapeutic treatment, relaxation or a combination of the two, you’ll feel fantastic afterwards.

I am Kiran, a Registered Acupuncturist with a decade of experience, starting my practice in 2012. My primary mission is to cultivate patient-centric, collaborative, and empowering relationships with every individual I serve.

My avid interest in holistic health drives my practice. I believe Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) provides the tools and perspectives needed for you as a patient to engage closely with every aspect of your life – mind, body and soul. This practice can help you achieve optimal health and well-being.

I create gentle treatment plans specific to your circumstance, regardless of whether you’re young, elderly, pregnant, or have special requirements. I put importance on providing safe, creative and sustainable self-care options for you. I assess your dietary and lifestyle habits and incorporate additional modalities such as cupping, acupressure massage, facial rejuvenation acupuncture, gua sha (gentle scraping) and food therapy.

I completed my studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the International College of TCM in Vancouver, BC. Further, I’ve completed a postgraduate two-year Mentorship Program called Acupuncture Alchemy: The Treatment of Psycho-Emotional Pain with Dr. Yvonne Farrell – in Los Angeles, California.

I enjoy the simple pleasures in life, trying a new restaurant, savouring diverse cuisines and finding a new coffee shop in the city. I love to dance and get so much joy from sweating it out at a dance class. Nature is my sanctuary, I find peace when I am close to any kind of water…and feel most alive when I am able to swim and float in it.

Some areas that I can assist with include:

-Stress reduction and deep relaxation

-Regulation of the nervous system

-Increased energy

-Help with anxiety and depression

-Facial Skin rejuvenation, which increases facial collagen production

Delina graduated from WCCMT in 2001. Her practice is primarily focused on treating chronic pain, rehabilitation and stress reduction. Delina has a special interest in the healing benefits of yoga which lead her to complete a yoga instructor certification through Prana Yoga College in 2007. Delina works together with patients to come up with individualized treatment plans and goals. She uses a variety of techniques and modalities including neuromuscular techniques, Swedish massage, myofascial release, frictions, joint mobilization, trigger-point release, facilitated stretches and home care exercise. Delina also practices affective touch therapy. When her children were born she marveled at the sedative affects of this type of slow gentle massage. Affective touch therapy optimally stimulates c-tactile afferent nerves through effleurage and nerve stroking techniques. C-tactile afferent nerve stimulation has been shown to lower anxiety, decrease heart rate, increase pain thresholds, and release oxytocin and serotonin. Affective touch massage therapy is most beneficial for patients whose primary goal is relaxation and stress reduction.

I discovered massage therapy through my own journey to recovery through personal injury. This process has been deeply intertwined with the development of a dedicated yoga practice and studying somatic movement therapy. After completing a yoga teacher training in 2011, it was clear that the next step was entering the health care field through massage therapy. I completed my studies at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. I draw on a variety of treatment techniques including Swedish massage, deep tissue, cranio-sacral, myofascial release, neuro muscular therapy, trigger point release, deep tissue, and joint mobilizations. My approach is holistic, integrating mind and body, using breath work to develop awareness and healing. I also enjoy working with women’s health, providing support though out pregnancy and assistance with rebuilding balance after delivery.

Previous to my time in Vancouver I focused on studying fine art in the mediums of metalsmithing, drawing, and design. In addition, I apprenticed and mastered the art of craft cocktail bartending as well as pursued a career in event and restaurant management. I now find balance between my time as therapist, and as a working artist, often finding inspiration while exploring the great outdoors.
